Admission and registration of participants for the IDC IGP World Championship

Admission and registration of participants for the IDC IGP World Championship

Valid from 05.09.2025

There is no limit to the total number of participants in the IDC-IGP World Championship.

Participants must be members of a national association affiliated with the IDC.

A maximum of 5 dog handlers per national association will be admitted. Each dog handler may only participate with one dog.

The winner of the previous year’s IDC-IGP World Championship for working dogs automatically qualifies to compete in the following year as the defending champion with the same dog with which they won the title, outside of the country quota, if their country registers them.

Each national association may register one reserve participant for the IDC-IGP World Championship. They are also listed in the catalog. If one of the registered participants drops out, only those registered as reserve participants may step in as replacements.

Only dogs that have passed at least one FCI-IGP 3 test with a qualification mark (AKZ) during the qualification period can be registered for the IDC-IGP World Championship by the national associations.

The qualification period begins one day after the IDC-IGP World Championship and ends with the registration deadline.

In addition, it is up to the regional associations to establish further qualification criteria for participation in the IDC-IGP World Championships.

The dog must be registered in a stud book recognized by the FCI. Surgically neutered males and females are permitted if a veterinary certificate proves their original integrity.

The national associations must collect the registrations and send them to the organizer before the registration deadline. The registration must contain the following information:

– Name of the national association

– Name, address, telephone number, and email address of the team leader(s)

– Name, address, telephone number, and email address of the participants (reserve participants)

– Name of the dog, date of birth, stud book number, identification mark (chip, tattoo, etc.), training

mark, father, mother, breeder.

The registration must be carried out by the national association or by a person authorized by the national association.

The names of the participants must be received by the head of organization by the registration deadline specified in the invitation.

Participants must present a workbook issued by their regional association. The workbook must be collected by regional association and handed over to the organizer before the start of the World Championship. If the regional organization does not issue workbook, an electronic version may also be presented.
